Ontario Premier to visit Punjab in Jan

Jalandhar, Nov 7 (UNI) Premier of Ontario (Canada) Dalton McGuinty will viisit India in January next year.

An NRI Sabha Punjab Spokesman said here today Mr McGuinty, accompanied by a high level delegation, would arrive in New Delhi on January 14 and during his nine-day visit he would meet a number of dignitiaries in the Union as well as and the Delhi Government, including several Union ministers and Delhi Chief Minister Ms Sheila Dikshit.

The visiting dignitary would also go to Bangalore and Mumbai and would hold meetings with Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and Maharastra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

On January 20, Mr McGuinty would reach Chandigarh to meet Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda.

On Janaury 21 he would visit Jalandhar to participate in a function organised by the NRI Sabha and would later proceed to Amritsar to visit the Golden Temple.

The next morning the premier would visit the Wagah Attari Indo-Pak Joint Border Post, the spokesman added.
