Omar criticised Mufti for his speech in UN
Jammu, Nov 7: National Conference president Omar Abdullah has criticised former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for his speech in the United Nations.
Talking to mediapersons at Chenani in Udhampur district yesterday, he said Mr Mufti betrayed the people of Jammu and Kashmir during his speech in the United Nations last week. He had made tall claims of raising the people's aspirations but ended up talking about force, diplomacy and nuclear proliferation.
''The Kashmir issue is important in the national perspective, the people of the state are feeling betrayed. Kashmir is a political issue and could only be solved by political initiative,'' the NC president said.
He said focusing on economic issues, development and governance is the duty of every government. However, the Kashmir problem could be resolved only through political dailogue, Mr Abdullah added.
NC chief also charged the PDP with giving contradictory statements and creating confusion on their concept of self-rule and asked them to clarify their stand.
