New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) A few overseas Indian workers will be honoured at the fifth "Pravasi Bharatiya Divas" in the capital city during January 7-9 next year.

In the previous four editions, only outstanding and eminent NRIs were honoured in recognition of their contribution in different fields.

Overseas Indian Affairs (OIA) Minister Vayalar Ravi today announced that a few overseas Indian workers would also be recognised and honoured for their contribution at the fifth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.

A known trade union leader, Mr Ravi has been working for the uplift of the Indian workers in the Gulf countries ever since he took over the new responsibility in the Manmohan Singh government a year ago.

The three-day anual diaspora meet is expected to be attended by more than 10,000 overseas Indians.
