Modi urges MPs to raise Gujarat's issues in Parliament
Ahmedabad, Nov 7 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today urged MPs from the state, cutting across party lines, to raise the issues facing Gujarat during the Winter Session of the Parliament.
Mr Modi pointed out to the MPs that 13 mine and industries projects, eleven road and buildings projects, four Water Resources projects and several other projects of energy and petrochemicals were pending with the Central Government which need to be pursued.
He told the MPs that industrialisation of earthquake-devastated Kutch, that has been taken up with an investment of Rs 32,000 crore, could get an impetus if the Centre agrees to give excise relief till December 2007. This too needs to be pursued, Mr Modi told the MPs at an all-party MPs meet hosted by him today.
He further said that airports at Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat need to be upgraded while land needs to be allocated to the Ahmedabad airport for construction of hangars.
Five Congress MPs, however, boycotted the meeting alleging that it was called with an ''ulterior motive''.
