Kyndiah says not interested in state politics
Shillong, Nov 7 (UNI) Union Minister in-charge Tribal Affairs P R Kyndiah today said he did not have any interest in returning to state politics in Meghalaya.
''I am not interested in Chief Ministership,'' the Union Minister, who was stripped of Development of North Eastern Region portfolio last month, said.
Mr Kyndiah's statement came in the backdrop of the Congress president's decision to depute AICC observers to sort out the 'leadership crisis' .
''I have told Sonia Gandhi and even Congress leaders in the state that I am not interested in returning to state politics,'' Mr Kyndiah told UNI here.
Admitting that there was problem inside the Congress party in Meghalaya, the Shillong Lok Sabha member said the central leadership was aware of the problem.
He said the party has taken steps to sort out the misunderstanding among the state Congress leaders through concerted efforts in order to strengthen the party.
The party would not prolong the climate of political uncertainty and would work out a formula which would strengthen the party, he added.
