Indian economists to discuss on agri-development
Shillong, Nov 7(UNI) The 66th Annual conference of Indian Society of Agricultural Economics (ISAE) would begin here tomorrow at Indian Council of Agriculture Research complex, Umiam.
The three-day Conference would be attended by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, former Chairman of CCP Dr S S Johl and renowned economist and member of Planning Commission.
The conference would deliberate agricultural development status of the north east region, rural infrastructure and trends in food consumption and nutritious food security would be discussed at the annual conference of the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics beginning here on Wednesday.
Union Minister in-charge Tribal Affairs P R Kyndiah would inaugurate the conference, where about 300 delegates, including scientists, academics, planners and policy makers from across the country.
