'India Organic 2006' in Bangalore from Nov 9-12
Bangalore, Nov 7: 'India Organic 2006', the country's premier trade show in organic farming business, will be held here from November nine to 12.
The uniqueness of the second edition of the trade show, organised by the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture, would be the Organic Food Festival, got up by the Morarka Foundation of Rajasthan. More than 250 food varieties from organic produces would be served during the festival.
Talking to newspersons here today, Foundation Chief Executive Officer Mukesh Gupta said that to popularise organic products, add spice to the trade show and drive home the point about consumption of organic foods, a Food Court would be organised with cuisines prepared from organic food from various parts of the country.
He said the trade show would be a perfect platform for both buyers and sellers of organic produce to share initiatives, strike deals and exchange know-how in the organic space. It was also aimed at harnessing, encouraging and propelling consumer awareness in the domestic market for organic produce.
Mr Gupta said that during the trade show, a three-day high-level 'India Organic Congress' would be held from November ten to 12, in which over 90 sessions would be addressed by experts from all over the world, including renowned environmental activists Vandana Shiva, International Forum for Organic Agriculture Management President Gerald A Herrmann and Organic Farming Association of India Coordinator Claude Alvares.
