Government committed to all-round development of Mithilanchal

Addressing a function in Madhubani, Mr Kumar said despite fertile land, the Mithila region lagged behind on the path of development due to perennial problem of floods, which wreaked havoc in the region every year.
The Bihar government had demanded a special package from the centre for the area ravaged by flood every year, he said, adding the situation would change once the package was granted by the central government.
To a demand of according 'Jhanjharpur', the status of new district, he observed that due to ongoing delimitation process, issues of creating new district, subdivision and block could not be taken up.
He, however, assured the locals to consider their grievances after completion of the said process.
''Untiring effort of the state government to improve the infrastructure was now yielding result as the roadscape of the state was wearing a better look,'' he added.
