'Goa Government playing dirty poltics Kalasa Banduri Nala project'
Bangalore, Nov 7 (UNI) Accusing Goa government of playing a 'dirty politics' with regard to Kalasa Banduri Nala drinking water project, Karnataka Minister for Water Resources K S Eshwarappa today said that the state should get the water in line with norms applied to the Haryana-New Delhi drinking water project.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that he had written a letter to the Prime Minister explaining the state's stand and its right to get drinking water to Hubli-Dharwad cities by taking up Kalasa Banduri Nala project.
The Minister also cited the supreme court verdict in connection Haryana-New Delhi water scheme.
Mr Eshwarappa alleged that the Goa Government was allowing 200 tmc of water go waste into the sea but not allowing the Karnataka to get 7.5 tmc of water for drinking purpose and also pressurising the Union Government to file an affidavit in the Supreme Court.
Regarding the Maski Nala project, he said the state government would take a permanent solution to stop frequent breaching. Chinwala Committee had given its report recommeding Rs 841 crore in phase wise for its upkeepig in the next four years, he added.
