Chandigarh, Nov 7 (UNI) The Punjab government employees, under the banner of 'Punjab Mulazam Sangharsh Committee', have decided to show black flags to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh when he would be inaugurating the 'Vikas March' at Anandpur Sahib tomorrow.

The CM and Punjab Congress chief S S Dullo are scheduled to inaugurate the 'march' as the mass contact campaign of the ruling Congress with assembly polls due in February 2007.

In a statement issued here, the leaders of the 'Mulazam Sangharsh Committee' said hundreds of employees would show black flags to the chief minister tomorrow at Anandpur Sahib, the venue from where Capt Singh would flag off the 'Vikas March'.

The employees had termed the government's scheme of granting promotions after four, nine and 14 years of tenure in service with effect from November one, 2006 as ''a cruel joke'', the Committee conveners Succha Singh Khatra, Hari Singh Tohra, Dattar Singh and Ranbir Dhillon said.

They said the this scheme was being demanded by the employees with effect from November 1996, when the then Congress government had promised the same.
