BJP to start nationwide stir on Afjal issue: Rajnath

Naihati, Nov 7 (UNI) BJP chief Rajnath Singh today warned that a a nationwide stir against the Centre would start if Afjal Guru, who is facing capital punishment in Parliament attack case, was given clemency.

Addressing a party rally here, Mr Singh said the BJP would continue agitations all over the country till the convict was sent to the gallows.

He also criticised the Centre for its reported attempt to reconsider the sentence.

''Why the President or the Union government show mercy when the convict did not submit any mercy petition,'' the BJP chief questioned.
