Admissibility of Janardhana Reddy's petitions: Hearing adjourned

Bangalore, Nov 7 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today adjourned hearing on the admissibility of two petitions, filed by suspended BJP Legislator Janardhana Reddy, seeking quashing of defamation proceedings initiated against him by the State Government in the sessions court here.

Mr Justice Kabbin posted the petitions for further hearing.

Defamation proceedings had been initiated against Mr Reddy for levelling serious bribery allegations against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Home Minister M P Prakash and Forests Minister C Chennigappa. Mr Reddy had accused the Ministers of taking a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining lobby in Bellary to allow illegal mining.

On the defamation case filed by Special Public Prosecutor C H Hanumantharappa and Deputy Director of Prosecution K Janardana, the sessions court had ordered registering of the case and directed issuance of summons to the petitioner.
