Oil production station attacked in Nigeria-sources
LAGOS, Nov 6 (Reuters) An oil production facility at Tebidaba in Nigeria's southern state of Bayelsa was attacked in the early hours today, government and security sources said.
The Tebidaba region feeds crude oil to the Brass tanker terminal, which exports about 200,000 barrels per day and is operated by Agip, a subsidiary of Italy's ENI.MI.
''The Tebidaba flow station in west Bayelsa was attacked,'' a security source said, asking not to be named.
''There is a takeover of a flow station at Tebidaba, but no hostages have been taken,'' a Bayelsa state government source said.
The last attack in the Tebidaba area was on a pipeline in July.
It was attacked again in March, forcing Agip to reduce production by 75,000 barrels per day for several weeks.
Attacks on the oil industry in Nigeria, the world's eighth largest exporter, have forced hundreds of workers to pull out and cut oil output by 500,000 barrels a day since February.
