Further analysis of farmer's autopsy reports, protests continue
Sriganganagar, Nov 6 (UNI) The autopsy reports of farmer Chanduram Saran, allegedly killed in a police lathicharge in Gharsana in this district of Rajasthan, will be sent to Bikaner Medical College for further analysis.
The viscera and histopathology reports of Chanduram have been received by the police, Superintendent of Police Vinita Thakur said.
The reports will be sent to Dr S N Kothari, chairman of the medical board which conducted the post-mortem.
Dr Kothari will further analyse both the reports and disclose the exact causes of death, most probably by Tuesday, Ms Thakur said.
Meanwhile, the talks between the state government officials and leaders of Kisan Mazdoor Vyapari Sangharsh Samiti, spearheading the farmers' protest for irrigation water from Indira Gandhi Canal Project in Phase I areas, resumed today.
The outcome of the report is likely to influence the government's decision on the compensation package for Chanduram's family.
The farmers are demanding Rs five lakh ex gratia and a job for one of his dependants.
Meanwhile, the farmers agitation continued at several places, including Gharsana and Khajuwala in Bikaner district.
Khet Mazdoor Union, Tractor-Trolley Union, SFI Labour Union staged a demonstration before the district headquarters in Gharsana.
Several leaders including CPM legislator Amraram addressed the gathering at Khajuwala today charging the government of repressing the rightful demands of farmers.
Tight security arrangements were in place in Khajuwala in view of the protest. Barricades were put up at the entry points of the town and State Roadways and private buses did not ply today as a precautionary measure.
