Champions Trophy early exit disappointing not frustrating: Tendulkar
Mumbai, Nov 6 (UNI) Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar today termed the early exit of India from the Champions Trophy as dissapointing, but said it was not ''frustrating''.
''It is disapointing there is no doubt about that, but we should not allow it to frustrate us. We need to get the momemtum to change our fortunes around and we can do that by working harder and sticking together as a team,'' he said.
Sachin was speaking after being announced as the Corporate Brand Ambassador of Cannon at a function here today.
The batting maestro said in the lead up to the 2003 World Cup, ''we had a wretched time losing in New Zealand and then losing our warm up game against a Natal 'B' side. However, we worked harder and stuck together as a team and the results were there for all to see as we beat all the teams except the world champions Australia.'' Speaking about Australia, Sachin said, ''Though there are some great players in other teams, we have to accept Australia as the best team because of their hard work, which they put in and the way they perform as a team.'' ''There is always someone to take on the responsibilty and rescue them when the chips are down and we all must learn from that,'' he added.
The master blaster further said, ''With the South Africa tour looming large, we must not think too much about the loss in the Champions Trophy and rather take the positives out of that tournament and plan for the South African tour.'' ''Holding onto our performance in the Champions Trophy would do us no good,'' he added.
