All-party committee need inquire 'land grab': TDP
Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) The Opposition TDP in Andhra Pradesh today demanded the appointment of an all-party committee to inquire into the alleged ''land grab'' in MLA Colony in the posh Jubilee Hills area of the city, by the Government Chief Whip N Kiran Kumar Reddy and asked him to resign to facilitate an impartial inquiry.
A Telugu Desam Legislature Party delegation led by party deputy leader Nagam Janardhana Reddy and city MLA Sayanna today visited the house of Kiran Kumar Reddy, who a popular daily had alleged had 'illegally occupied valuable government land'. The delegation staged a dharna before his house.
Talking to newspersons later, Dr Janardhana Reddy said they had no faith in the inquiry to be conducted by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as requested by Kiran Kumar Reddy in his letter released to the press yesterday.
Dayakara Rao and city MLA alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy's house was also built by a contractor and the TDP would soon come out with the details of the ''scam''.
A popular daily wrote a story that Kiran Kumar Reddy who always stood in the forefront of Congress attack on TDP had grabbed 700 sq yards of valuable land worth Rs 1.5 crore. Kiran Kumar Reddy wrote a letter to the Chief Minister asking to hold an inquiry into the allegation and released a copy of it yesterday at a press conference.
Kiran Kumar Reddy, a close confident of Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy said he would undergo any punishment if the allegation was proved correct.
