WB traders advise Delhi traders not to pay taxes
New Delhi, Nov 4: The Federation of West Bengal Trade Associations (FWBTA) has extended full support to the Delhi traders community in their struggle for existence.
The FWBTA has urged the agitating traders to declare a total non-co-operation and non-payment of revenues.
''If needed, we from Bengal will join them by not paying the Central Government revenue and if need arises, we will stop state revenue too, the Association Chairman (Press and PR) Mahesh Kumar Singhania said in a statement issued here today.
According to the statement, the FWBTA are seriously concerned with regard to the existence of licenesed traders, schools, medical facility units and professionals of Delhi.
''FWBTA extend full moral support to the agitating traders and we are seriously thinking to call West Bengal State Trade bandh in their support,'' Mr Singhania added.
The statement said, ''We earnestly request the judiciary and authorities to please seriously consider not to interfere or stop the trading activities, traders's performance of their moral and social responsibilities to collect the government revenue by serving people, their means of earning for existence and creation of direct and indirect employment.
The traders's right to live and to let live should not be disturbed under any circumstances, the statement added.
