UP tops in meat production, export

Lucknow, Nov 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh has topped in meat production and export in the country, State Animal Husbandary Minister Virendra Singh said here today.

UP also stood first in dairy production, he informed.

''The state supplied over 5.50 lakh litres milk to the national capital last year,'' the minister said, adding UP was supplementing to the needs of several other states also.

Mr Singh said breeding and rearing of domestic animals such as goat and sheep was being given special emphasis to give economic boost to the animal husbandary sector, besides poultry trade.
