Two businessmen looted
Chhatarpur, MP, Nov 4 (UNI) Unidentified persons looted Rs 2,500 from two businessmen and shot at and injured a police head constable, who gave them a chase at Gorihar-Khaddi road, about 120 km from here, police said today.
Sumerpur-residents Nawab Ali and Safaf Ali were ferrying dates and dry fruits in a truck to Kanpur when unidentified persons opened fire on the truck on the night of November 2.
As soon as the vehicle halted, the miscreants beat up the two businessmen, stripped them and decamped with the money.
Meanwhile, motorcycle-borne head constable Anand Tiwari, who was passing from the area, challenged the miscreants, who shot at and injured him. Mr Tiwari fired back but the culprits escaped taking advantage of darkness.
Mr Tiwari was admitted to hospital.
