Priests flock High Court

Kolkata, Nov 4 (UNI) Priests of the Tasrakeshwar temple of Lord Shiva flocked to Calcutta High Court when the judges questioned the role of the ''pandas'' in the centuries-old famed temple of the Hindu God.

The hearing of the case was fixed next Friday.

A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice V S Sirpurkara took up the case as public interest litigation after lawyer Narayan Chandra Bhattacharya submitted before the court that pandas of the temple did not allow him to enter the sanctum of the temple.

Lawyer Idris Ali pleaded on behalf of the temple priests.
