Nagar Kirtan in city on eve of Guru Purab

New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) Nagar Kirtan was taken out in the city today on the eve of the 575th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

The procession started from Parade Ground Esplanade Road near Gurdwara Sis Ganj, Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi and ended at Gurdwara Nanak Piao in North Delhi, going through various parts of the capital. Thousands of people, including school children, participated.

Earlier, Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi greeted the people on the occasion and said though all the gurus considered humanity as their religion, Guru Nanak showed to people how to worship God even while being family persons.

City police had made elaborate security and traffic arrangements to ensure the procession went of smoothly.
