Maoist leaders treat cadre with disdain: Madhu
Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 4 (UNI) Tech Madhu alias Srinivas Reddy today alleged that Maoist party leaders were behaving in a high-handed manner and not consulting the lower level cadre in any matter.
Talking to newspersons in the presence of DIG Ravi Gupta and district Superintendent of Police Sowmya Misra, he said the party which claimed to be ''building up people's movement was now concentrating only on acquiring weapons and resorting to violence''.
Mr Reddy said the party leadership failed to study and solve the problems of the people. It no longer enjoyed the support of the people, he added He said recruitment had come down and eduated persons, youth and intellectuals were not joining the party. ''I have been thinking to surrender since 2005 and more workers were thinking of leaving the party'', he alleged.
Mr Gupta said any insurgent was welcomed to join the mainstream of life. The necessary assistance would be extended to the surrendered naxalites for their rehabilitation, he added.
Earlier reports had said that Madhu and his wife surrendered before Gudur police on October 27 and the police were searching for Maoist dumps with their help. Mr Gupta has presented the couple before the newspersons.
Home Minister K Jana Reddy and the DGP Swaranjeet Sen, however, denied the reports.
Meanwhile, Balladeer Gaddar said it was wrong on the part of Madhu to talk ill of the party after serving it for so many years.
Police coerced him to make such a statement, Gaddar added.
