Malaysian badminton hope escapes serious injury in crash

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 (Reuters) Malaysia's leading Asian Games hope Lee Chong Wei suffered mild concussion and required six stitches on the back of his head after a car accident, according to local media.

The Star newspaper reported that the accident happened when a car in the fast lane of a freeway lost control and hit Lee's vehicle yesterday.

''From the preliminary report, the injury is not serious,'' Badminton Association of Malaysia Secretary Gangga Rao told The Star.

''(He) may be out of training for a few days. We hope to find out more after the medical report is out.'' The world number two, 24, has won three titles so far this year including the Asian Badminton Championships in April. The Asian Games start in Doha on December 1.
