La Opala's net profit to Rs 2.14 cr this fiscal
Kolkata, Nov 04: La Opala, India's leading glass tableware manufacturer, has posted a net profit of Rs 2.14 crores during the first half of the current fiscal, registering a healthy 38 per cent growth as on September 30 last year.
Declaring the first six months' financial results of the company, sources at La Opala, also the country's leading exporter of glass tablewares, here today said during April to September period the Company's total revenues had also gone up by over 22 per cent to Rs 25.21 crores from Rs 19.87 crores during the corresponding period of last year.
As a special feature, the sources said, the Company Board of Directors had recommended 1:1 bonus shares for all La Opala shareholders.
Regading its future expansion programmes, the sources informed that La Opala's new plant at Sitarganj in Uttaranchal would formally be commissioned by April 2007 as the project work was progressing smoothly and as per schedule with a likely expenditure of Rs 15 crores.
About export performaces, the sources said, La Opala products were being increasingly accepted in a large number of countries across the world including the USA,U.K.Brazil,Germany,France,Italy, Japan, Korea,Singapore and Thailand with the volume of export in almost every country increasing by about 20 per cent annually.
At present La Opala had a wide range of more than 42 different types of glass tableware products on sale under the brand name of Solitaire, the sources added.
