KAS officer amass Rs 6 cr worth wealth: Lokayukta
Bangalore, Nov 4: The Karnataka Lokayukta has in a raid on the house of senior Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer unearthed cash and assets estimated to be over Rs.six crore, which was disproportionate to his known source of income.
Lokayukta Santosh Hegde told newsmen here that the Lokayukta police yesterday conducted the raid on the premises of KAS Official R Rameshappa, who had held many prominent posts in his three decade old career and had allegedly amassed wealth which was disproportionate to his known source of income.
The the raids revealed that he owned a palatial home in a posh locality in the city, two flats which have been rented out and House sites in Koramangala and NGEF layout. The officials also found silver and gold articles besides bottles of expensive scotch whisky and cash and financial instruments worth over Rs.13 lakh.
He said that the investigtion was still on and the officer currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khadi and Village Industries Board. He was being questioned.
