Kalam, Manmohan greet on Guru Nanak Jayanti

New Delhi, Nov 4: President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today greeted the nation on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

In separate messages, they urged the people to follow Guru Nanak's preachings of equality, compassion and truth.

''As we celebrate Guru Nanak Devji's birthday let us deeply understand his message of meditation and remembering God, honestly earning through ones physical and mental effort while accepting God's gifts and blessings and to share within society,'' Dr Kalam said.

''Guru Nanak's profound message of leading an honest, truthful and virtuous life continues to guide and inspire humanity,'' Dr Singh said in his message.
