Journalists protest against attack on media in Belgaum town

Kolhapur, Nov 4 (UNI) The Journalists here today staged a dharna at the busy Shivaji Chowk to protest against the attack on the Marathi speaking mediapersons by Kannada people at the border area town of Belgaum recently.

Large number of media representatives attended the dharna, which was supported by various political parties.

The dharna was called by the Journalists organisation here which condemned the stone pelting on daily 'Pudhari'(Kolhapur) Belgaum office and attacks on Marathi journalists by Kannada people.

Later journalists marched to the district collectorate, where a memorandum was submitted to the district collector.
