Jeev extends lead in Japan Tour event, sniffs title
Fukuoka, Japan, Nov 4 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh continues to strike it hot in Japan Tour and the Indian turned in a scintillating penultimate round of five-under 67 to extend his lead in the Asahiryokuken Yomiuri Asoiizuka Memorial Open here today.
After rounds of 66, 65 and 67, the Indian is topping the chart at 18-under 198, opening up a three-shot lead over second placed Yoshikazu Haku who carded 67 today.
On a high after winning the Volvo Masters in Spain, Jeev reeled off as many as nine birdies in his eventful round, which also included a bogey quartet.
Jeev began with a bang -- with a birdie hat-trick to be precise -- and dropped a shot on the seventh to take the turn at two-under.
His back nine was a spectacular affair and he either picked up a shot or dropped one on each of the holes.
Bogeys on the 10th, 12th and 14th holes could not derail his campaign as Jeev picked up a shot each on the 11th, 13th and 14th before finishing just the way he had started -- with a birdie hat-trick.
