Italian festival to begin in Mumbai from Nov 11
Mumbai, Nov 4 (UNI) A month-long Italian Festival ''Festa Italiana 2006'' aimed to showcase the best of ''Made in Italy'' in several sectors, will begin in here from November 11.
This was announced by the Italian Trade Commission and the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI), along with the Cultural Institute and ENIT (Italian State Tourist Board), under the patronage of the Italian Embassy and the Consulates General in India, yesterday.
The festival will showcase the best of the 'Made in Italy' in several sectors including banking and insurance, chemicals, tourism, culture, food and wine, agro-food, textiles and ceramics, which will be presented in a variety of events ranging from seminars, round tables and meetings for exhibitions, concerts, lectures and road shows.
Announcing the ''Festa Italiana 2006,'' Italy's Consul General in Mumbai Giuseppe Zaccagnino said, ''Our two countries are both endowed with a rich heritage and a long history. The festival aims to provide information on many facets of Italy -- its institutions, legislation, economic activities, culture, outlook into the world, thus furthering and strengthening the breadth and scope of co-operation between our two countries and what better time to celebrate this partnership than on the eve of 2007, which is declared as the Year of Italy in India.'' Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Narinder Nayar said, ''This year we bring Italy to you in co-operation with our close partners.''
