International symposium on ''Natural Dyes'' from tom

Hyderabad, Nov 4 (UNI) Crafts Council of India (CCI) Chairperson Vijaya Rajan said the CCI, with the partnership of UNESCO, will organise an eight-day ''International Symposium on Natural Dyes'', starting here from tomorrow.

Addressing the press here yesterday, Ms Vijaya said the objective is to bring together experts in this field from all the five continents sharing their experiences and knowledge which would be documented for the first time in the world. Over 800 delegates and 50 speakers, representing different countries would participate.

Stating that the symposium will also host an ''Asia Pecific region fashion show'' she said a range of current activities in natural dyes in several sectors including traditional large scale commercial applications, emerging consumer needs and non textile material like wood and leather will be showased.

UNESCO representative Dominique Cardon said the symposium will be an occasion to bring together mastercraftspersons, researchers specialists, and craft promoters in natural dyes from different parts of the world.
