Gujarat BJP to stage state-wide protest on Afzal issue from Nov 15

Ahmedabad, Nov 4 (UNI) The BJP today decided to launch a week-long state-wide protest from November 15 to 21 against any mercy to Mohd Afzal Guru, who has been sentenced to death for his role in the attack on Parliament.

The protest will be observed all over the state at taluka and district levels, BJP sources said.

The decision was taken by the state BJP Executive Committee, which met here under the outgoing state president Vajubhai Vala.

He will be replaced by the newly-elected president Purshottam Rupala at a grand function to be held here on November 9.

The protest is aimed at spreading awareness among the people of the state about the petty politics being indulged by the Congress and its state units, the sources added.
