Gagan Ajit,Igance among 5 axed,IHF shortlists 23 for Doha Games

New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) Striker Gagan Ajit Singh, midfielders Ignace Tirkey and Vikam Pillay are among the five players from the World Cup squad who have been axed as Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) today shortlisted 23 probables for the final phase of the coaching camp in preparation of Doha Asian Games.

The two other world cuppers who do not figure in the list of probables are defender Kanwalpreet Singh and midielder Nitin Kumar.

Drag flicker Sandeep Singh, who suffered a bullet injury just before the World Cup in Monchengladbach, also does not find a place in the list as he is yet to recover fully.

Defenders Harpal Singh, Wlliam Xalxo and forwards Adam Sinclair and Gurwinder Singh have been recalled to the camp. The three week long camp being held at Rourkela wll conclude on November 24.

The Doha Asiad is slated to be held from Decmber 1st to 15th.
