Elaborate security arrangements for by-election in Bihar
Patna, Nov 4 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure fair and peaceful polling for by-elections to Nalanda and Bhagalpur Lok Sabha constituencies slated for November 6.
Security forces will maintain strict vigil to thwart any attempt by trouble mongers to create disturbance during the polling.
Inspector General of Police (headquarters) Anil Sinha said here today that 60 companies of Central Paramilitary Forces(CMPF) and 30 companies of Bihar Military Police (BMP) would be deployed in both the constituencies. Besides CMPF and BMP, altogether 13600 jawans of district armed police would be deputed during the polling, he added.
Mr Sinha said the mounted police would be deployed in riverine areas of Bhagalpur parliamentary constituency while strict vigil would be maintained along the river coast to check the movements of naxalites and criminals on the polling day.
''Aerial survey would be maintained to keep a watch on movements of criminal elements in Nalanda parliamentary constituency,'' he informed.
''Arrangements have beefed up for video recording and digital photography at all the booths to foil the attempt of tampering the poll process by unscrupulous elements,'' he said.
