Dr Lal PathLabs to offer diagnostic services

Guwahati, Oct 4: Dr Lal PathLabs, India's largest pathology chain, has opened its state-of-the-art diagnostic centre in Guwahati today in association with Xcell Labs.

With the opening of this Laboratory, Guwahati would now be on Dr Lal PathLab's National Pathology Grid (NPG), which integrates the entire network of LPL Labs across the country.

The network is connected with the help of high tech software system and satellite technology, resulting in error free results.

Speaking to newsmen here today, Dr Lal PathLabs Pvt Ltd vice-president Vijender Singh said the newly launched lab is equipped with fully automated laboratory instrumentation with a bi-directional interface, in which the diagnostic instruments actually 'talk' to the mainframe computer. This ensures error free diagnosis in the shortest possible time.

Dr Lal PathLabs is the first Indian laboratory to use the most sophisticated laboratory diagnostic equipment and 'marry' it with the software-ULTRA from GE Medical Systems to completely revolutionise test reports with the ability to perform "hands-off" testing with remote registration and printing of results, he said.

The lab would also offer advanced cardiology, radiology and bone densitometry tests in Cardiology, Treadmill Test(TMT), ECGT , Echocardiography under supervision of expert cardiologists.

The labs would offer imaging tests like X-Ray, Ultrasound with Colour Doppler under supervision of highly experienced radiologists.

It has a distinguished track record of providing medical diagnostic services in India for the last 57 years. The company's laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP ).

It has collections centres almost in all the towns in the North Eastern Region.The company expects to double the number to touch 800 in the next five years.

The LPL chain caters to 6,500 patients per day and offer over 1,6000 different investigations and tests-the highest in country, he added.
