Charges framed against SAD MLA Gaganjit in maid rape case

Chandigarh, Nov 4 (UNI) A local court today framed charges under section 376 of the IPC against Akali Dal MLA Gaganjit Singh Barnala, son of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, in the alleged rape of a maid servant.

District and Sessions Judge B S Mahendiratta, after framing the charges, adjourned the case for December 15.

Gaganjit Singh Barnala was arrested by Chandigarh Police on August 12 after their 45-year-old family masseuse alleged that she had been raped by the legislator at his official quarters.
