AP Governor offers worship at Tirumala temple
Tirumala, Nov 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Thakur worshiped Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala temple here this morning.
He was received by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer A P V N Sarma, Joint Executive Officer Balaramaiah and Temple Deputy Executive Officer Prabhakar at the temple entrance on arrival.
After darshan, Mr Sarma offered 'vasthram' and 'prasadam' to the Governor. He was honoured by the temple priests amidst chanting of vedic hymns at Rangannukula Mantap.
The Governor, accompanied by University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Sukhdev Thorat then visited the Vedic Visvavidayalam at Dharmagiri in Tirumala.
Before leaving for Hyderabad today, Mr Thakur would inaugurate a national seminar on 'Higher education in India in the new millenium - challenges and opportunities' at the Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati.
