All except two farmer leaders released in Rajasthan
Sriganganagar, Nov 4 (UNI) Two senior leaders of Kisan Mazdoor Vyapari Sangharsh Samiti, who could not provide their personal bond, are still in jail as others have been released today.
Samiti leaders, along with others, had been on agitation demanding irrigation water from the Indira Gandhi Canal Project.
The sub-divisional magistrate of Gharsana ordered the release.
District Collector Kunji Lal Meena said a total of 124 protestors were arrested in Gharsana and Raola towns under Section 151 of CRPC in the past few days.
He said 85 protestors have been released on personal bonds. The release of 36 Samiti leaders was ordered from Bikaner jail, he added.
Meanwhile, curfew has been lifted from Gharsana and Raola.
Though prohibitory orders have been promulgated till November 30.
The agitated farmers continued protest in Chaiyan under Rawatsar police station in Hanumangarh district today also.
Yesterday, police lathicharged angry farmers and villagers who resisted their move to arrest Samiti ledears Balwan Puniya and Jagjit Singh Jaggi.
