Wipro enables migration to Windows Vista

Bangalore, Nov 2 (UNI) Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited, today announced that it is the first organisation to join the Application Compatibility Factory (ACF) to enable enterprise customers worldwide to migrate their applications from their existing platform to Windows Vista from Microsoft Corp.

Wipro's ACF solution was industry-ready and had proven itself through migrations to Microsoft Windows NT and Windows XP. Wipro would also help customers assess and certify their compliance to Windows Vista. The primary services offered by ACF would be application migration, packaging and deployment services for Windows Vista. The ACF solution would also cater to customers not certified for Windows Vista and remediation for such customers would be part of ACF, a company release here said.

''Wipro's toolsets, process knowledge and technical expertise enable its ACF model to provide well-tested Windows Vista compliant applications, and reliable SLAs at predictable costs to customers,'' Mr Brad Brooks, General Manager for Windows Client at Microsoft.

''The end-to-end global delivery model with no additional on-site investment is the cornerstone of Wipro's unique offering. We have made deep investments in the process, including a unique packaging portal and our offering includes assessment, application inventory, application migration, testing, issue tracking, sign-off, packaging, deployment and maintenance along with quick status reporting,'' Wipro Technologies Senior Vice-President G K Prasanna said.
