Views of Party workers to be given weightage in allotment of tickets
Dehra Dun, Nov 3 (UNI) State Parliamentary Board of Uttaranchal unit of Bharatiya Janata Party would give more weightage to the views of party workers in churning out 70 candidates out of 400 aspirants for the forthcoming Assembly Elections scheduled to be held early next year in the state.
BJP State General Secretary Naresh Bansal told reporters here today that State Parliamentary Board meeting would be held on November eight in Dehra Dun in which 15 member Board headed by the BJP State Chief Bhagat Singh Koshyari, would select the appropriate candidates.
He said the criterion for selection would be based on the report submitted by the Survey Team.
He said the report was prepared by the Survey team based on the popularity of the candidate for which views of party workers were given more importance. Loyalty and dedication towards the party and his potentiality to win the seat were other criteria for the allotment of tickets to them.
Mr Bansal asserted that no person with criminal background would be alloted ticket.
