Sutherland expands Global BPO operations in India, hires 1000 people

Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) Sutherland Global Services, a global leader in the BPO space with India offshore facilities in Chennai, Mumbai and Kochi, has announced the launch of a new Canadian delivery center in Windsor, Ontario.

The facility, slated to become operational this month, will initially house the technical support operations for a Fortune 100 global technology leader. Sutherland's investment in Windsor marks the first major IT Corporation move to the city and the new location is slated to grow to 1,000 employees within 18 months, said the company's release.

Headquartered in Rochester, New York, Sutherland has BPO operations in Canada, the United States, Mexico, India and the Philippines, and currently employs over 13,000 individuals, including over 8000 in India.

The new Windsor location represents the Company's fourth Canadian expansion, following the launch of two successful Operations Centers in Sault Site. Marie, Ontario and one in Vernon, British Columbia.

Sutherland Chairman&CEO Dilip R Vellodi said, ''The availability of talent, a robust infrastructure, the support of the Government of Ontario and the spirit of partnership demonstrated by the City of Windsor were reasons for us to expand to this city.

This Operations Center will play a key role in leveraging our ''Right-Shored, global delivery model''.
