Six of 11 missing fishermen return

Chennai, Nov 3 (UNI) Six of the 11 fishermen, reported missing after they ventured into the sea on October 31, returned here today.

The fishermen from Kasimedu area, returned this afternoon on their own, police siad.

They said they drifted in the sea because of bad weather and went towards the Andhra Pradesh side. However, they managed to alter the route and returned safely.

A search was on to trace the remaining missing fishermen.

The 11 fishermen from Kasimedu in North Chennai were among 23 who put out to sea in four boats. However, 12 of them, who travelled in two boats, returned to the shore due to bad weather conditions on that day, while six others came back today.
