Seminar 'The Future of Textile

Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) The Fabric Suppliers' Association has organized a free seminar on 'The Future of Textile and Garments Industry' on November 18, 2006, at Mumbai Educational Trust Hall in Mumbai.

The prominent speakers of the seminar will be Rahul Mehta, President of the Clothing Manufacturers' Association of India Vedprakash Arya, Director (operation)&COO Pantaloon Kewalchand Jain, CMD Kewal Kiran clothing Ltd Prakash Lakhani, MD Ginny and Jonny and Ramesh Rambhia, Marketing consultant.

According to Chainroop Banthia, President of the Fabric Suppliers' Association, the production of woven and knitted fabrics manufactured from different fibres expanded to 49,462 million sq metres in 2005-06 from level of 45,378 million sq metres in 2004-05, thereby recording an increase 9.1 per cent out of these total fabrics 60 to 65 per cent fabrics are consumed by readymade garment sector.
