Sarkar wants clear sports policy to hone talents
Agartala, Nov 3 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has stressed the need for transparent sports policy to hone the best talent in the country.
Inaugurating the state level 39th Table Tennis competition here last night, the Chief Minister opined that because of the absence of clear policy in sports, the country lagged behind other nations in many diciplines.
Barring Manipur, all other northeast states did not have any infrastructure to hone the sporting talent.
He mentioned that Communist-ruled China had attained independence after two years of our country's freedom, but it had made long inroads in the field of sports.
In all 180 persons from different sub-divisions took part in the state level competition.
