Red sanders seized from export container

Chennai, Nov 03 (UNI) The Docks Intelligence Unit of Chennai Customs seized 2.42 tonne red sanders from an export container here today.

Madhu Mohan Damodhar, Commissioner of Customs (Seaport-Import) said in a press release the value of the seized goods is Rs 28.22 lakh.

Further investigations were on.

In the last two years, Chennai Customs seized 48 tonne red sanders valued at over Rs two crore, he added.
