Punjab Vigilance arrests SPINFED accounts manager
Chandigarh, Nov 3 (UNI) Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrested an Accounts Manager of Punjab Spinfed Corporation (SPINFED) while he was accpeting a bribe of Rs 27,000 from a former employee of the Corporatrion for clearing his dues under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) benefits.
The official, Shiv Om Chander Joshi, was nabbed in a trap which was laid following a complaint by Jagir Singh Sandhu that Mr Joshi had been demanding money from him for doing the work, a VB spokesman here said yesterday.
He has been arrested under sections 7, 13(2), 88 of Prevention of Corrruption Act.
According to the complainant, Mr Joshi was demanding Rs 30,000 in lieu of releasing two cheques amounting Rs 1,39,571 and Rs 57,193 respectively of his dues.
