PSB retain national hockey title
Jalandhar, Nov 3 (UNI) Punjab and Sind Bank today retained the National Hockey title as they beat Delhi 3-1 in the final at Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium here.
The winners 2-0 at half time with Rajwinder Singh and Parminder Singh scoring in 17th and 22nd minutes respectively.
The defending champions increased their lead with Kulwinder sounding the board in the 44th minute.
Delhi's Bikas Toppo scored the team's lone goal in the 59th minute.
Earlier during the day, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) secured third position, beating Namdhari XI 7-2.
The star-studded IOC played a fluent game and scored through Olympian Prabhjot Singh (19th and 30th minutes), international Inderjit Singh Chadha (41st, 69th), Bikramjit Singh (55th, 62nd and Bharat Chikra (52nd).
Namdharis reduced the margin through Sher Singh and Gurpreet Singh.
