Police officer arrested for accepting bribe

Patna, Nov 3: The Vigilance sleuths today arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abhimanyu Sharma, posted at Khaira police station in Jamui, for accepting Rs 5000 as bribe.

ADG, Vigilance, Neelmani said here that acting on a tip off the sleuths caught Mr Sharma red handed at a road side motel in Jamui town.

The ASI had demanded money from one Ranveer Kumar Singh for settlement of a case.

The arrested police officer was being brought to Patna for interrogation.
