NESO demands for special constitutionals status for NE
Agartala, Nov 3 (UNI) The North-Eastern Students Organisation(NESO) has urged the Centre to grant special constitutional status to all the North-Eastern states for their development.
Speaking to mediapersons here yesterday, NESO Chairman Samujjal Bhattacharjee said today, ''Infiltration from neighbouring Bangladesh is a major problem and should be stopped immediately.'' The NESO leader, who is also the Advisor of the All Asom Students Union (AASU), said all the issues related to the NE politics should be solved.
The Chairman of the NESO alleged that ''the Union Government is not taking infiltration problem seriously.'' Mr Bhattacharjee, who came here to attend the four-day 4th Annual Convention yestrday, demanded setting up of a Special Economic Commission, administrative centre and National Commission for unemployed youths of the NE states.
All the front ranking student leaders of the region attended the convention.
