NBRI transfers patented technologies to Alchemist
New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) National Botanical Research Institute of India (NBRI) has transferred four patented technologies to Alchemist Ltd for their global marketing.
Alchemist has commenced the commercial production of the four nutraceutical products, namely, nutra-diab, nutra-lact, nutra-balyog and nutra-preg with effect from November 1, 2006 at its unit at Chamba Ghat in Himachal Pradesh.
With health sciences and wellness identified as key sectors of growth for the group, Alchemist is looking at acquiring more such technologies that will help make health care more available and affordable.
Commenting on the acquisition of these technologies, Mr K D Singh, Chairman of the Rs 1,500 crore Alchemist group said that the Alchemist group has grown by identifying innovative business opportunities and by thinking innovatively about those businesses.
''In future we will be moving in these identified areas very aggressively and aimed to be a significant group in health care very soon. We will take these home-grown and researched products and turn them into potent OTC brands very quickly,'' Mr Singh said.
Alchemist is diversified into health sciences, agri and food processing and real estate. The group employs over 4,000 people.
