MP Cong opposes bill on OOP
Bhopal, Nov 3 (UNI) Opposing a proposed amendment bill aimed at keeping the posts of corporation and board chairpersons out of the purview of offices of profit, Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi today felt that it would be improper to take any related decision prior to the Election Commission's hearing on the matter.
''A Congress complaint -- against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a dozen of his ministerial colleagues and three MLAs occupying more than one office of profit -- is sub judice before the Commission,'' she told reporters in the Assembly Press Room.
Pointing out that November 7, 2006 was the date fixed for a hearing involving nine ministers and three legislators, the tribal leader added that notices were dispatched to the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders concerned.
''We will submit our objection before the Commission,'' she warned.
